identity
Rush is queer. Fully, proudly and without footnotes.
Rush is created from queer culture and exists to celebrate it. Our events centre queer expression, queer creativity and queer freedom. We are not neutral about that identity and we are not interested in watering it down to make it easier to market.
fluid
The crowd is fluid. Respect is the entry requirement.
Rush welcomes LGBTQIA+ people, allies and respectful people from every community. You do not need to fit one look, label, body type, gender expression, music tribe or social circle.
You do need to understand that every other person has the same right to exist, dress, dance, flirt, decline, change their mind and enjoy the event without being treated as content or spectacle.
people
Who should come to Rush?
Come if you are curious, expressive, kind, playful and able to share space. Come if you love a strong theme, a well-built event and a crowd that is more interesting than a copied dress code. Come if you can celebrate people who are different from you without making their difference the evening's debate.
Do not come to mock, harass, photograph people without permission, test boundaries or treat queer guests like entertainment.
consent
Consent is active, clear and ongoing.
Ask before touching. Ask before photographing. Respect the first no. Respect a changed mind. A ticket never buys access to another person.
Rush protects the atmosphere by taking complaints seriously and supporting event teams to act when someone ignores boundaries or threatens the safety of others.
culture
Different theme. Same culture.
Rush events may change venue, music, scale and visual world, but the culture stays consistent: queer-led, everyone-respecting, style-positive, body-neutral, anti-harassment and serious about consent.
The best Rush crowd is not one where everybody looks the same. It is one where people feel free enough to look completely different.
